These are the simple ground rules for using 8letter. By using the app you agree to them.

What 8letter is
8letter offers readings from Chinese traditions (Bazi, Zi Wei Dou Shu, the I Ching and temple lots) for entertainment and self-reflection. The charts are worked out by our software from the details you give; the words are written by an AI.
Not advice, not a prediction
Readings are not predictions, and are not medical, financial, legal, psychological or any other professional advice. Please make important decisions with qualified professionals and your own good judgement, and never rely on a reading for a decision about your health, money, safety or relationships.
Your account and your details
You can use the app as a guest or with an account. Please give details you are entitled to share, and only enter another person’s details if you are comfortable doing so. Keep your sign-in details safe; you are responsible for what happens under your account.
Using it fairly
Please use the app for yourself and the people close to you. Do not try to break it, overload it, copy it in bulk, or use it to harass anyone or to break the law.
Our content
The app, its design and the readings we write belong to us or are used with permission. Parts of the classical texts are old and in the public domain, and credits are given where a source asks for it. You may share your own reading cards with friends; please do not sell them or present them as professional advice.
No promises, and limits
We work to keep 8letter running well, but it is provided as it is, and we cannot promise it will always be available or free of mistakes. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for loss arising from your use of it or your reliance on a reading.
Ending and changing
You can stop using 8letter at any time and delete your data under Profile → Delete your data. We may change or stop parts of the app, and we may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version. Using the app after a change means you accept it.
